Come and visit soon. We think Stonewall is "A Great Place to Call Home"!

Located just 20 minutes north of Winnipeg on PTH 67, Stonewall is a vibrant community which has all the amenities of urban living in a unique rural setting. Springing from a tiny hamlet in 1878, Stonewall has been famous for its limestone quarries since the early 1880's. For decades limestone was quarried and then processed into quicklime in towering limestone kilns on the north edge of town. The quarries are closed now however many heritage limestone buildings, such as the Town of Stonewall office, the Old Post Office, and the old McConkey's Store are found throughout the community.

An 80 acre park in an abandoned quarry, complete with ball diamonds, a manmade lake, campground and the new Quarry Park Heritage Arts Centre pays tribute to the town's quarry roots. Stonewall Quarry Days, a three day celebration in August, shows Stonewall's pride in its past. Join us!
