Manitoba’s South Interlake ATV Club is proud of its trail and riding

The South Interlake ATV (SIATV) Club is home to the first and currently only designated ATV trail in Manitoba. The club was formed in the spring of 2008 by a group of enthusiasts who wanted to increase the acceptance of and opportunities for recreational ATVing in the area—which includes the areas around Warren, Woodlands, Argyle and Stonewall in the rural municipalities of Woodlands and Rockwood. In the future, the club would like to see a provincewide system of connected trails similar to those of Snoman, the provincial snowmobiling organization.

A Ribbon cutting ceremony followed greetings from James Bezan-MP for Selkirk/ Interlake today as he commended the hard work and efforts by the St. Andrews Heritage Centre volunteers for pushing forward on an agreement with Parks Canada.

Congratulations to all nominees and to the winners of the Interlake Tourism Awards! This event was held at Camp Douglas[formerly Camp Y] just west of Woodlands..
The evening began with a guided Bus trip to Twin Beaches area on Lake Manitoba to see first hand the changes to this area due to 2011 flooding and to see the restoration underway.

Leigh Cochrane Memorial Visitors Centre of Fisher River announced as a finalist!

Congratulations to the Leigh Cochrane Memorial Visitors Centre at Koostatak on the Fisher River First Nations. They are finalists in the Travel Manitoba Provincial Partnership Award category.

Holding annual activities and celebrations on the grounds that sit along the Fisher River the Community Celebrations run along with the Treaty Days and Powwow.
They also partner with the Band Council and Manitoba Conservation to work on maintaining the environmental integrity of the area.

Come out to see the wiggling mass of male snakes that attempt to attrack the females as they emerge from the den.

The Gimli Model Air Fest volunteer group enjoys bringing avid air model participants from across North America and some times from overseas. This group has in 8 years hosted thousands of visitors each year that come to Gimli to enjoy spending time with people of common interest. They come for days ahead to visit and compare planes and showcase them during the Air Show Day on the Sunday.
