Fisher River Cree Nation attracts many to its concerts, visitor centre.
FISHER RIVER CREE NATION -- In 1875, 40 Cree families left Norway House, paddled York boats south along the western shore of Lake Winnipeg and then up the Fisher River a short ways to start a new life.
And every year, people here celebrate the founding of Fisher River Cree Nation with a concert unlike anything you'd expect from a reserve of just 1,700 people, living at the end of the road two hours north of Winnipeg.
